SAFETY IS NOT JUST A DEPARTMENT

Safety is a word, if perceived incorrectly, can do more harm than good! Safety is not just the department within a company who trains their employees on best and safest practices and standard operating procedures. While a Safety department plays a big part in having a safe work environment, it is not the only thing that makes a company safe. Safety is a culture, a commitment from upper management, and a buy in from employees. It takes every single employee to create and maintain a safe environment.

At McLeod Express, we take safety seriously. We educate, we coach, we reinforce, and most importantly – we care about the safety of our employees. With each driver we hire, there is an extensive process the driver must go through before they get behind the wheel. They must meet our extensive hiring criteria, participate in a formal interview with the VP of Safety, pass our training classes and hands on training conducted at our terminal, and conduct themselves in a safe and professional manner.

Safety is one of our top priorities and we take pride in our CSA scores, our overall safety record, and how we are trusted and viewed by our insurance carrier and our customers. We will continue to strive for safety excellence and have high expectations from our employees in maintaining the highest safety standard for our organization.
