While things continue to change during this pandemic, we all have to continue to take the proper steps to keep ourselves, our families and our communities safe both at work and while at home. Employees are reminded of the CDC guidelines on How to Protect Yourself and Others:
Clean your hands often
Avoid close contact
Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others
Cover coughs and sneezes
Clean and disinfect
Click the link above fore more details on these recommendations. A PDF version of these guidelines is also available on https://mcleodexpress.com/covid19.htm.
Safety recently sent a fleetwide message notifying drivers that limited quantities of cloth masks are available and we have volunteers making more. Please contact your safety team specialist if you are in need of one. We encourage everyone to review the CDC Use of Cloth Face Coverings to Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19 to educate yourselves on how to use them, why they are beneficial, cleaning them and making them if you wish to do so. Face masks should not be used in place of, but in conjunction with social distancing.
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) previously announced they were temporarily waiving member cost-sharing for COVID-19 diagnostic testing. They have now expanded that to waive member cost-sharing to COVID-19 treatment as well. This includes waiving deductibles, copayments and coinsurances related to treatment for COVID-19. These would have to be services described as such by your healthcare provider at an in-network facility or for out-of-network emergencies related to COVID-19 treatment.
As a reminder the Essential Critical Workers Document can be found on the COVID-19 page of our website and linked directly here.
The safety and wellbeing of our workforce continue to be our top priority as we to strive for a safe workplace and adjust our practices to protect the health of employees, customers, visitors or others while also ensuring the continuity of business operations during this time.
We will continue to monitor the developments on local, state, federal and global levels and continue to communicate any changes. Likewise, employees must continue to communicate with their supervisors/managers if their health situations have changed or if they have come in contacted with an infected person.
